Ignacio Revuelta Vicente (MD PhD) is a kidney transplant physician in the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant of Hospital Clinic. He got his PhD in Medicine at Medical School of Barcelona, and in Harvard Medical School the research fellowship in medicine in Kalluri Lab at Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center (Boston, US). He is a clinical professor of Barcelona University, and main researcher of IDIBAPS research institute (addressing a translational research lab in transplant). He is also member of several societies in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation, and he got several international and national awards and grants.
From 2006, he is participating in the evaluation and the follow- up of the living donor and recipients. He has participated in the development of ABO incompatible living donor kidney transplant, positive crossmatch living donor kidney transplant, and did the first kidney exchange donor transplant in Spain in 2009, participating as well in the first bridge chain and the longest chain of transplant in this program. He is also the coordinator of the cancer registry in kidney transplant patients in Spain.
He is a member of EULID and ELIPSY projects from the beginning, and participated in the elaboration of LIDOBS community. He is taking part of the follow- up of the donors and recipients of this project in the Hospital Clinic, and participate in the design of guidelines, recommendations, book chapters, and manuscripts of the LIDOBS community in the excellence for the care of living donors.
