Dr. Assya Pascalev

Dr. Assya Pascalev AssyaPascalev, Ph.D., is the director of the Bulgarian Center for Bioethics. She is an internationally known ethicist with expertise in the ethics of organ donation, end-of-life ethics and research ethics, and a leading Bulgarian expert on biomedical ethics. Dr. Pascalev holds a doctoral degree in applied philosophy and has extensive academic experience teaching philosophy and bioethics in Europe and the USA. She was a member of the Scientific Committee of the 10th World Congress of Bioethics (Singapore, 2010). Dr. Pascalevis a member of ESOT and ELPAT, the American Philosophical Association and the international network Bioethics Without Borders. She is also an Editorial Board member of the Open Ethics Journal (Bentham). Dr. Pascalev has numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals including Transplantation, Transplant Internationaland Bioethics. A list of recent publications follows:
