Dr. Leonídio Dias

Dr. Leonídio José da Silva Coelho Dias obtained is degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He is Nephrologist at the Department of Nephrology and Transplantation at Hospital de Santo António / Porto – Portugal and responsible for the evaluation and follow-up of living donors.

• Responsible for the evaluation and follow-up of living donors.
• Responsible for the desensitization protocols in hypersensitized patients.
  Member of EULID project – Euro Living Donor – sponsored by the Public Health Executive Agency of the European Union.
• Member of ELIPSY project – European Living Donor Follow -up Psychosocial – sponsored by the Public Health Executive Agency of the European Union.
• Member of LIDOBS (Living Donor Observatory).
• Expert appointed by the Portuguese Society of Transplantation to participate in the working group of Portuguese Authority of Transplantation, to study and implement the programme of paired kidney donation in Portugal.
• Member of Working Group of the Portuguese Authority of Transplantation responsible for laboratory studies to assess the sensitization of kidney transplant candidates.
• Internal Auditor for Quality Indicators related with procedures for cadaveric and living organ donation implemented by the ODEQUS project ( 0rgan Donation European Quality System ). Co – participant in the ExternalAudit.
• Co – Author of Chapter ” European Living Donation and Public Health “ in ORGAN DONATION ANS TRANSPLANTATION – PUBLIC POLICY AND CLINICAL PERSPECTIVES
• Member of the Portuguese Society of Nephrology and the Portuguese Society of Transplantation.
